When your order arrives, it comes with a brochure that guides you through how to use the products. There are really no 10-step routines with shea butter and black soap – it is incredibly simple and easy. Think of it this way: black soap for washing with, shea butter as a cream to apply.

Both can be used on skin and hair/scalp. So if, like Aida, you have always struggled with a problematic scalp with itching, dandruff and sores, you can happily say GOODBYE to those problems when you start using shea butter and black soap!

Shea butter and black soap last for several years. According to the village women in Ghana, the products stay fresh for up to two years. After a year, the vitamins in the products begin to fade, but you can still use shea butter as a moisturising cream and black soap as a cleansing soap.

The products can be stored in the packaging they arrive in: somewhere dry and cool. However, a tip is to store them in a glass jar. Press the shea butter into a glass jar, or whip it into a lovely, fluffy cloud and place it in the jar. You can divide black soap into smaller pieces and put them in a glass jar. Then take out one piece, use it up and take out the next. It can also be left out on a soap dish.

It depends entirely on how often you use the products and what you use them for. More is used if you use both on your face, body and hair, even though the products go a long way.

Take a piece of shea butter or the whole amount. Warm it gently over a bain-marie or in the microwave, only until it is slightly runny at the bottom. Whip it with an electric whisk for about 10 minutes, or until you reach the consistency you want. Put it in your glass jar and ENJOY it when you apply it.

No, no and no! Your black soap has not gone bad, and it is not mould either. What has happened is a chemical reaction in which a white layer forms around the soap when it has absorbed moisture. This does not affect its properties, quality or shelf life.

Unrefined shea butter, untreated and natural, contains an incredible amount of beneficial fatty acids. During production, these fatty acids can clump together and form small crystals or grains. Shea butter melts on contact with body temperature, so you can easily rub it between your palms. You can also whip the shea butter as described above to create a smoother cream.

The shea nuts used to make shea butter belong to a completely different nut family from the one we are usually allergic to. Shea butter also contains virtually 0% protein, which makes it allergy-friendly. We have hundreds of customers with nut allergies who have returned and never experienced any reaction to shea butter. If you want to be on the safe side, apply it to a small area first and then expand gradually.

Both shea butter and the soap have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties and can work wonderfully against spots and acne, for example. At first, a purging process may occur, where bacteria beneath the skin come to the surface. You may therefore notice more spots initially as the skin clears out bacteria. A purging process can last between 2 and 8 weeks. Hang in there!

Also remember to adapt your skincare routine with shea butter and black soap to your skin type. If you are drier, focus on hydration and shea butter. If you feel the need to exfoliate, use more black soap, but remember always to moisturise afterwards. You do not want your skin to become dry, as that can cause more spots and irritation.

Both shea butter and black soap are completely free from additives and perfumes, among other things. They come straight from nature and are entirely untreated. According to most people, shea butter smells like a blend of nuts, white chocolate and nature. Black soap is similar: it smells of nature, forest and clean air.

If you are expecting a baby, there are no restrictions regarding the products. They are as pure and natural as possible, which is why shea butter and black soap can actually be recommended for your newborn miracle.

In Ghana, there is a tradition of applying shea butter to the vaginal opening throughout pregnancy to make childbirth easier and reduce the risk of tearing. It is also used while breastfeeding to reduce sores that may occur during nursing. Several customers have followed this tradition here in Sweden and found it helpful!

You now know that shea butter and black soap have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, and that they are completely untreated and natural. In addition, both shea butter and black soap have antifungal properties and help balance the pH level of the body.

If, like many of us, you have experienced intimate problems such as fungal infections, itching, imbalance or bacterial vaginosis, you need to try shea butter. Black soap too, but remember not to soap or wash the intimate area too often. Rinsing with lukewarm water followed by applying shea butter internally and externally may be enough.
